At a time when everything seems to be changing it is good to know what will not change. Outdoorsmen Church’s mission statement is “Outfitting the body to reach the lost through uniquely Montanan ministries.” How that will happen (the vision) depends on the time, people and resources available. However, there are parts of our ministry which have become cornerstones, they will not change. Solid Biblical Teaching: We will continue to work our way through Scripture not avoiding the tough stuff, while presenting it in a way that is understandable and applicable to our daily lives. Meals: We will continue to give a free meal every week. We understand that this connects people, blesses wives and tells newcomers we are here to serve, not take. Relaxed, come as you are: Outdoorsmen is for anyone. Everyone should feel welcome at all times regardless of their background, lifestyle or dress. As one pastor put it “No perfect people allowed.” Mid-week service: If we are to reach Montanans, asking them to give up their weekend is often just too much. Our mid-week service provides opportunity for those who love the outdoors to play hard, it also gives families true time to spend together, and for our body to minister in the community. Finances: No one in the church knows who gives. Finances are processed by someone outside the church. Giving is a private act of worship and will remain so. We will not ask for pledges, you are accountable to God and God alone. Youth Church: It just makes sense. If we are trying to reach people where they are and to take down as many walls as possible, the same should be done for our young adults, giving them opportu-nities to get involved in serving and ministering to their peers. Children: We will continue to let kids be kids, to provide for them an exciting environment filled with friendships and adventure, where they will encounter their Lord and Savior; a place where they can’t wait to come back. Relationships not Programs: As staff we do not care to fill your life with activities and programs, but with relationships in and outside the church. We will continue to develop even more small group gatherings with the goal that everyone be connected. The Outdoors: The main passion and past time for us Montanans is the outdoors and it will remain a passion of ours as we reach out to Montana. Outfitting the Body: It is and has been our goal to help you grow and mature in Christ, we will continue to encourage and help you in whatever way we can as you get involved in the body of Christ.
